Hidden Harvest Sets New August Record Compared To Last Year
Coachella, CA — Hidden Harvest is proud to announce a new organizational milestone: 14,000 pounds of fresh produce were distributed in August 2025, marking the highest August total the nonprofit has ever recorded.
August has traditionally been a pause month for Hidden Harvest due to extremely limited produce availability and annual maintenance needs on the organization’s single refrigerated box truck. In most years, distributions cease entirely. This summer, strengthened partnerships with local packing houses and small farmers allowed the organization to continue operating during a month when fresh produce is historically scarce.
“This achievement speaks to the dedication of our team and partners,” said Francisco Linares, Executive Director of Hidden Harvest. “Being able to serve our neighbors in August—when we are usually forced to stop entirely—means more families and seniors had access to healthy, fresh food during a challenging time of year.”
The 14,000-pound distribution supported low-income seniors, families, and community organizations across the Coachella Valley, helping ease summer food insecurity at a time when resources are typically strained.
