In addition to rescuing surplus produce, Hidden Harvest partners with local small farmers by purchasing their seasonal harvests—bringing greater variety, freshness, and nutrition to our food distributions. This collaboration not only strengthens our programs, but also supports the sustainability of small-scale farms and our broader agricultural community.

We support small farmers in three meaningful ways. First, we provide hands-on assistance to help beginning growers get off the ground—whether that means offering guidance on planting decisions, helping navigate regulatory requirements, or connecting them with trusted local resources. Second, we purchase the fresh, seasonal produce we need for our food distributions, giving farmers a reliable, local buyer they can count on. And third, for the crops we don’t buy, we help farmers find additional markets to sell their surplus—so they can make the most of their harvest and keep their operations thriving.
